Difficulty: Explorer (Level 1)
Knowing yourself is like having a secret treasure map. Understanding your strengths, weaknesses, feelings, likes, and dislikes is called “self-awareness”. Being self-aware helps you get along better with friends and family. You’ll notice how you want others to treat you and how you treat them. Remember to treat others the way you want to be treated. The more you learn about yourself, the better your relationships will be.
All about you
-
Write down three adjectives you would use to describe yourself. Here are some examples: kind, cheerful, loud, shy, clumsy, creative, artistic, sporty, musical, smart, calm or impatient.
-
What do you notice about your choices? Are the adjectives you selected positive, negative, or could they be both? Hopefully, they are mainly positive, but if not, that’s OK too. Having a balanced understanding of ourselves helps us build better relationships with others.
-
Next, ask a friend to choose adjectives that they believe describe you. Do their selections match the adjectives you chose for yourself?

Instructions
-
Now that you have a better understanding of your current self, let’s take a look at your future self. How do you imagine yourself? Write down your ideas in a mind map. Things to think about include your dream place to live, your dream house, your job, your interests, your appearance and your friends.
-
Based on your mind map, draw out your future self! Feel free to use colours and design it however you like.
-
Finally, take a moment to think. Look at your mind map and drawing. Did you come up with a lot of ideas, or did you find it hard to think of them? Both are perfectly OK. Remember, you have plenty of time to find out what you are good at and to grow into the wonderful person you are meant to be.
