I recommend the drama series I Woke Up a Vampire.
The main character is Carmie. It all starts in her bedroom when she wakes up on her 13th birthday and finds herself floating high above her bed. Her dog, Rainey, is also talking to her!
She discusses these shocking changes with her best friend, Kev. Kev is a fan of comics and takes Carmie to his favourite bookstore to find the reason for her sudden development of magical powers. They discover that she is a special being who is meant to receive magical powers on her 13th birthday.
This is a revelation, but they also realise that there are many people hunting beings like Carmie. So she hides her magical side from everybody except for Kev. Carmie also has to balance keeping this secret while being an understudy in a musical called The Fangs of the Opera.
Carmie’s life becomes increasingly bizarre with her special powers.
I like this series because it has a very magical world – Carmie isn’t the only person with special powers. There are many interesting beings hidden everywhere, so she has to be careful!
I recommend this series, and I look forward to another season and hope that the story never ends.
