Karsten Wan Ho-ting (aged 8), St Paul’s Co-educational College Primary School

I love reading because it can teach me a lot. For instance, I read that the Arctic has many ice mountains and oceans, unlike Antarctica, which is a large land mass.

I read before going to sleep. It makes me feel comfortable and helps me sleep better.

Reading also makes me happy. For example, one of my favourite books told a joke: Once upon a time, an eagle bought a telescope. He exclaimed, “Yeah! I can look as far as an eagle.” But he was an eagle himself!

Ethan Chui Sheung-hang (aged 10), Norwegian International School

Recently, I had the opportunity to build an impressive Lego police station complete with gates and a car park. I even constructed a police office on top of the car park. It took me about three hours to bring this elaborate police station to life, and I couldn’t be prouder of the results. Now that the police station is complete, I am looking forward to my next project: building a carnival! I can’t wait to dive into the construction process and see my imagination come to life once again.

Isaac Kang (aged 10), Renaissance College

This month, my mum and I volunteered to give resources to the homeless. During the walk, I met some disabled homeless people who were very grateful, especially an old man who couldn’t lift his head and had an injured eye. He talked to us the whole time.

When the walk was almost over, my team found a group of people without housing sitting under some shelters in a park and gave them our remaining resources. People should volunteer and share what they have with those in need.
