This year’s Olympic Games will be held in Paris in July. One unique feature of this year’s running track has amazed people. Breaking all stereotypes that a running track should be red or blue, it is a vibrant shade of purple.
The purple track reminds me of the sun-kissed lavender fields in Provence, France. It serves as a symbol of freedom and life. The psychological effects of the colour could soothe people, and purple resembles passion and creativity.
I appreciate the organisers’ efforts to give the historic Games a fresh breath of air.

Carrie Tang (aged 11), Christian Alliance PC Lau International School
My best friends are Cayley, Maya and Zito. They don’t go to my school, but we see each other once or twice a week.
We met in a dance studio. We have K-pop and jazz classes together; being with them is fun. Sometimes, we play a game called Marshmallow. We clap our knees and say the word; whoever misses the rhythm loses. It’s a fun game!
We plan to go to an escape room in the summer. Even though we aren’t in the same school, we will always be best friends. I hope our friendship will never end!

Our school’s parent-teacher association (PTA) recently led students in a celebration for our hardworking school team, reminding us to be grateful for all they do.
We worked on a gratitude tree for our school wall. Students and parents wrote leaf-shaped thank-you notes to stick on the tree. Students also brought fresh flowers to school, which were made into unique bouquets and offered to all team members.
I am very grateful to my teachers and the school staff!
