I enjoyed the book May the Best Player Win by Kyla Zhao because it talks about life and how we should never give up, even when things don’t go our way.

Some really interesting and intense things happen in this book. It is about a girl named May who plays chess and faces many challenges on her way to the finals.

Since it is a chapter book, you can improve your reading skills and learn new words. Each chapter has an important message or theme that keeps you engrossed in the story until the very end.

Most importantly, the book talks about life events. Young readers can relate to the story because they face many challenges in their studies, with their friends or even with their hobbies.

The main messages in this book are to never give up and to always stay true to ourselves. For instance, the main character, May, struggles with chess, so she keeps practising with the help of her coach and also receives support from her friends.

It reminded me of an experience I had: I found it hard to swim, but with a lot of practice and support from my coach and parents, I was eventually able to master certain techniques.

Another good thing about this book is that it is not tough to understand. This book is exciting. Reading it will transport you to another world. If you have free time to relax with a book, you know which one to choose!
