It was a sunny day in California and Summer was dancing freely in the meadows. That is, until she ran into a hitch when she saw a magical puppy looking straight at her.
“Ahhhh!” Summer screamed.
Once she calmed down, she picked up the adorable, magic-looking puppy and took it into her soft hands. She carried the puppy inside.
Her mother was frightened when she saw the pup.
“Summer! You frightened me to death. Why are you carrying a little puppy in your hands?” Summer’s mum said.
“Mum, calm down. I found the puppy in our backyard. Can we keep it, please? I will do anything, including clean up its litter,” Summer said.
Mum sighed. “All right, just this once, I suppose.”
Summer jumped with joy and ran up to her room. “What should I call you?”
She ran back to her mother and said, “Mum, this is Ginger.”
“All right.” Her mum smiled.
Summer bounded to her room in excitement. She had got her first-ever puppy.
The next day, her mum called her down to go to the pet store with her.
“Summer, are you ready yet? Time’s a wastin’.”
Summer ran down the stairs with a small guilty smile. She didn’t want her mum to know how much of a mess Ginger, the new puppy, had made.
After going to the pet store, Summer took all the new stuff for her puppy to her bedroom in a wagon.
“Ginger! Ginger! Look at all the stuff I bought you,” Summer shouted as she sprinted up the stairs.
Ginger barked in reply.
When Summer got to her room, she put down all the things she had bought for Ginger.
But when she looked up, something mysterious happened.
Why were there now two puppies standing in her room?
“Huh?” Summer shouted. “I must be dreaming.”
She pinched her arm, but this was definitely no dream.
