I recommend the book Witchlings by Claribel A. Ortega. It is about three witches: Seven Salazar, Thorn Laroux and Valley Pepperhorn.
These three witches are still witchlings, waiting to be placed into covens, where they will gain their powers and become witches.
Twelve-year-old Seven Salazar is waiting to be placed in the coven she has always dreamed of living in, House Hyacinth, along with her good friend, Poppy. But on the ceremony night, she isn’t placed in any group. That means she is still a witchling.
Seven meets other witchlings who were not placed in a coven, Thorn and Valley. Seven isn’t looking forward to being with them because she had hardly ever seen Thorn, and Valley is a bully. They are all disappointed because they do not want to remain witchlings for the rest of their lives.
But Seven is determined to do the impossible with Thorn and Valley: defeat the horrible, scary night beast. Read this amazing book to find out if they succeed.
