Davion Yau Hoi-nam (aged 9), CPC Yao Dao Primary School
My favourite subjects are physical education (PE) and English.
In PE, we play dodgeball and pickleball, which are very exciting games. I also like English lessons because my teacher is good and kind. She lets us play the spinning wheel game and Kahoot! quizzes. We really enjoy learning English through these games.
My hobby is lacrosse. I have joined competitions. My other hobby is playing the saxophone because I like its sound and performing with my classmates.
My favourite animals are my two cute cats, Whisky and Soda. They always play hide-and-seek at home. It is very funny.
My family likes playing board games after dinner and going to the park on holidays. In summer, we go to the beach. I love them.
My best friends are Nason and Pui-yu. We always play together, and they always help me when I have problems.

Emily Xu An-zhi (aged 9), Kowloon Junior School
My favourite subject in school is writing. It’s useful because weaving stories with words brings people joy.
My favourite animal is a dolphin, and my favourite memory about it is watching them dive at Ocean Park when I was three years old.
If I could change something about Hong Kong, it would be the language, because I don’t understand Cantonese.
I enjoy reading poetry and books because each story is unique. I especially like rhyming poems and series because if I like them, I can read on until the end.
I also specifically like poems about the unfairness of ancient times and poems about nature.

Alfie Yu Chih-tang (aged 9), Spanish School of Hong Kong
I recently went to the Big Buddha with my cousins. I was a bit frustrated because we had to queue up for a very long time to get on the cable car.
The cable car gave us a very beautiful view. The floor was made of glass. I felt like I was flying when I lay on top of it.
When we were far away, the Buddha seemed small, like a toy, but close up it was colossal.
When we arrived, we had to walk a long way. On the way, we did a challenge where we had to stamp all the stamp spots in the book we got at the cable car station. If you collected all the stamps, you could have a go at the claw machine.
We had to walk 200 steps to reach the Big Buddha. But surprisingly, it was much easier than I thought.
Inside, I learned a lot of interesting things about Buddhism. After that, I ate scrumptious tofu pudding. I also saw a dog eating fried bones.
