Do you know what the love languages are? These are the different ways we express love. The five love languages are gifts, physical touch, quality time, words of affirmation and acts of service.
If someone’s love language is gifts, it means they like giving presents to the people they love. I think my mum’s main love language is gifts. She bought me the new Dog Man comic book that I had wanted for months. I know she bought it to show her love for me.
I think another one of my mum’s love languages is acts of service. She likes planning fun activities and interesting trips for our family. She also helps me with my schoolwork when I’m stuck.
I think my sister Olivia’s love language is physical touch. She shows her affection by squeezing me really tight. When I come home, she runs up to me and gives me a big hug. I feel very loved!
If your love language is quality time, it means you like to be around the people you love. My dad enjoys spending time with me and Olivia and rarely goes out to dinner or on trips without us.
My love language is words of affirmation. I like saying kind things to others, such as “You are awesome!” or “I like your artwork”. I want to cheer them up when they feel down.
We all have a way we like to express our love, or even a combination of a few. We should recognise and respect others’ love languages so we can appreciate their love.
