In the twilight’s embrace, where dreams take flight,
the Spix’s macaw, a jewel of the night,
with feathers of azure and a whispering song,
echoes through forests where it once belonged.
Spreading its colourful, feathery wings,
while flying through the night, the creature sings.
A beautiful lullaby flies out of its beak,
and its body shape, ever so sleek.
Landing on a thick tree branch,
near the lush green leaves does the macaw prance,
flowing moves as elegant as a ballerina,
claws gripping the branch as strong as a hyena.
Nestling in its little twig nest,
lying here for the night to rest.
Found cotton the very best,
here lies the bird from the west.
