One day, Mandy’s music teacher said she would have a piano exam in December. The teacher said she should practise from Monday to Friday and try her best.

Mandy thought that she could practise piano for two hours a day. She skipped dinner and played until 11.45pm.

She practised a lot but became weaker and weaker. She began sleeping a lot, too.

On the day of the piano exam, she felt sleepy. The judge thought her fingers were too weak to play a song. She was sad. Her teacher encouraged her, saying, “You tried your best. But you must be healthy!”

The judge was happy that she did well on the next exam.
